For many manufacturers of diesel injection pumps there are almost no design changes in the past 25 years. For most diesel fuel pumps the only change is the addition of a computer controlled solenoid that has replaced some of the control parts in the units dealing with fuel flow. The overall diesel injection pump housing and internal mechanisms have changed little.

1		If running biodiesel then the fuel could have glycerin contaminating it if the fuel is of poor quality. This could create problems for the engine as well as gum up the injectors.

2		Contaminants in the biodiesel that block the fuel filter preventing the biodiesel to reach the diesel injection pump

3		The viscosity of the Biodiesel could by too high causing the diesel injection pump to not be able to keep up with the fuel needs of the engine causing sputtering or engine stalls.
