Biofuel Diesel Injection

Biodiesel Problems with Diesel Injection Pumps
  • If running biodiesel then the fuel could have glycerin contaminating it if the fuel is of poor quality. This could create problems for the engine as well as gum up the injectors.
  • The viscosity of the Biodiesel could by too high causing the diesel injection pump to not be able to keep up with the fuel needs of the engine causing sputtering or engine stalls.
  • Contaminants in the biodiesel that block the fuel filter preventing the biodiesel to reach the diesel injection pump.
  • Pumps using special seals and fittings designed to run on biodiesel have better longevity for this type of application.
